🚀 Getting Started
ROAM Intelligence is a persecution intelligence platform built for the global Church. We monitor threats to Christians and churches worldwide in real time, drawing from dozens of open-source intelligence feeds, persecution-focused organizations, wire services, conflict databases, and social media. Our AI processes every incoming report — classifying it by location, severity, category, and relevance to the persecuted Church — and presents it on a live interactive map alongside country risk assessments, verified incident reports, and AI-powered intelligence analysis. Think of it as a dedicated watch floor for the Body of Christ.
ROAM is designed for anyone who cares about the safety of Christians around the world:
  • Churches — Stay informed about threats in the countries where your members serve and your partners operate
  • Mission agencies — Monitor conditions in the field, brief teams before deployment, and receive alerts when situations change
  • Prayer networks — Get real-time, verified prayer requests tied to actual incidents on the ground
  • Christian NGOs & relief organizations — Track crisis conditions, generate intelligence reports for leadership, and monitor emerging threats
  • Individual believers — Follow the persecuted Church with reliable, verified intelligence
Visit app.roamintelligence.com and create a free account using your email address. You can start exploring the live map, viewing incidents, and accessing country risk data immediately. No credit card is required for the free tier.
ROAM offers three tiers to match different needs:
  • Free ($0/month) — Full access to the live incident map, basic filtering, and country risk data. A great starting point for individuals and small groups.
  • Individual ($9.99/month) — Adds personalized monitoring focuses with email alerts, geofence capabilities, social media intelligence, AI-enhanced reports, and access to Ezekiel (our AI analyst). Built for serious prayer warriors, individual missionaries, and church security teams.
  • Pro ($49.99/month) — Everything in Individual, plus multi-seat access for teams, advanced report scheduling, full Watch Desk capabilities, and priority intelligence features. Designed for mission agencies, denominational offices, and organizations that need to keep multiple team members informed.
🌎 The Map
The map is the heart of ROAM. It displays every verified and incoming incident as a marker placed at the geographic location where the event occurred. Incidents are plotted in real time as they come in from our sources. You can click any marker to read the full report, view severity and verification details, and see related incidents in the area. The map updates continuously — new data arrives from our sources every few minutes.
Markers are color-coded by severity level for instant visual threat assessment:
Red — Critical — Mass casualties, coordinated attacks on churches, genocide-level events
Orange — High — Confirmed deaths, bombings of religious sites, major attacks
Yellow — Medium — Arrests of pastors, injuries, church property damage, kidnappings
Green — Low — Harassment, protests, legal restrictions, general security events
Each marker also displays a category-specific icon so you can identify the type of event at a glance.
When multiple incidents occur in close proximity, markers automatically cluster into groups showing a count badge. The cluster color reflects the highest severity level within the group. Zoom in to see individual incidents. You can also toggle a Threat Heatmap layer from the Layers panel, which visualizes incident density across the globe — hotter areas indicate higher concentrations of incidents, weighted by severity. A tactical grid overlay is also available for coordinate reference.
The filter bar at the top of the map lets you narrow the view by timeframe, severity level, threat category, region, and religion. Quick toggles include "Christian Only" (shows only incidents relevant to the persecuted Church) and "Verified Only" (shows only incidents that have passed our AI verification process). All filters update the map in real time.
📡 Data & Sources
We pull from dozens of persecution-focused and global security sources. These include:
  • Persecution-focused organizations — Open Doors, Release International, Voice of the Martyrs, International Christian Concern (ICC), CSW (Christian Solidarity Worldwide), Barnabas Fund, Global Christian Relief, Morning Star News, Forum 18, AsiaNews, ACN (Aid to the Church in Need), ECSPE, and more
  • Wire services & breaking news — AP, Reuters, AFP wire feeds monitored continuously. Google News RSS provides broader coverage
  • Conflict & crisis databases — ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data), UCDP (Uppsala Conflict Data Program), GDACS, ACAPS crisis severity data, and ReliefWeb
  • Government & institutional feeds — U.S. State Department travel advisories, USGS earthquake data, NASA wildfire data, WHO disease outbreak news, NOAA weather alerts, internet shutdown monitoring
  • Social media & OSINT — 55+ monitored accounts across X (formerly Twitter), Bluesky, and Telegram, including persecution-focused organizations and regional conflict monitors
  • Christian news outlets — Catholic News Agency, Religion News Service, Christian Post, Christian Today UK, and others
Different sources are checked at different intervals based on their nature:
  • Wire services — Every 5 minutes for breaking news
  • Social media & OSINT feeds — Every 3–15 minutes
  • Persecution-focused sources — Every 30 minutes
  • News feeds — Every 15 minutes
  • Conflict & crisis databases — Every 1–12 hours depending on the source
  • Government advisories & environmental data — Every 10 minutes to once daily
Incoming reports are processed by our AI immediately upon arrival and appear on the map within minutes.
ROAM tracks incidents across 173+ countries. Every country has a risk profile, and we provide detailed country assessments drawing from the Open Doors World Watch List (78 countries), the International Institute for Religious Freedom (77 countries), the Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Guide (77 countries), and AI-generated baseline profiles for all remaining countries.
Because we monitor so many sources, the same event is often reported by multiple outlets. Our system automatically detects and merges duplicate reports, so you see each event once rather than five times. When multiple independent sources confirm the same incident, that actually strengthens the report — cross-source corroboration increases our confidence in the information.
🤖 AI & Verification
Our AI reads every incoming report and performs several critical tasks:
  • Location determination — Identifies where the incident happened and places it on the map
  • Category classification — Determines what type of event it is (armed attack, arrest, displacement, etc.)
  • Severity assessment — Evaluates how serious the incident is, with built-in floors for violent events like airstrikes and bombings
  • Christian relevance scoring — Determines how closely the event relates to the persecuted Church, scoring it from 0 to 100
  • Multi-language processing — Reads and translates reports from dozens of languages into English
  • Verification — Evaluates source reliability, information credibility, and screens for misinformation
  • Cross-source corroboration — Links related signals across different sources to strengthen reports confirmed by multiple outlets
  • Intelligence analysis — Generates country threat narratives, trend analysis, forecasts, and risk assessments
Our intelligence-grade verification system evaluates each report across six dimensions:
  1. Source Reliability — Is the source trustworthy? Graded A through F (A = Completely Reliable, F = Cannot Be Judged)
  2. Location Accuracy — Does the reported location make sense geographically?
  3. Detail Level — Does the report include verifiable specifics?
  4. Timeline Consistency — Do the dates and times add up?
  5. Severity Check — Is the assigned severity level accurate given the facts?
  6. Category Check — Is the incident type correctly labeled?
Information credibility is graded 1 through 6 (1 = Confirmed, 6 = Cannot Be Judged). The system also screens for signs of misinformation, including anonymous sources, sensationalized language, date inconsistencies, and lack of independent confirmation. Each incident receives a clear verdict: Verified, Needs Review, or Flagged.
AI-generated analysis is a powerful tool, but it is not infallible. Our AI processes real data from verified sources and applies rigorous analytical methods, but outputs may occasionally contain errors or miss nuance that a human analyst would catch. We recommend using ROAM as one tool among many in your decision-making. Always cross-reference critical intelligence with other sources and consult security professionals before making life-safety decisions. For more detail on our limitations, see our Disclaimer.
Yes. While our AI handles the bulk of processing to keep up with the volume of incoming intelligence, our team can manually review any assessment, update verification verdicts, and correct classifications. Human judgment always has the final say, and manual corrections are used to continuously improve the system's accuracy over time.
📈 Risk Assessments
Each country receives a Risk Score from 0 to 100, combining two key factors:
  • Persecution baseline — A long-term score derived from established persecution research, primarily the Open Doors World Watch List 2025. This measures how severely Christians are persecuted across areas of life including private, family, community, and church.
  • Recent activity — A real-time score based on how many incidents have been reported recently and how severe they are. More serious and more recent incidents carry greater weight.
Our AI also reviews each country's situation and can adjust the score based on context that raw numbers don't capture — whether threats are escalating, whether incidents are concentrated or spreading, and whether believers are being specifically targeted.
Countries fall into five tiers based on their overall risk score:
Critical (80–100) — Extreme persecution and/or active crisis. Christians face severe, ongoing danger.
High (60–79) — Serious threats to believers. Active incidents and significant persecution pressure.
Elevated (40–59) — Notable concerns. Christians face meaningful restrictions or periodic threats.
Moderate (20–39) — Some concerns present but not a primary risk area.
Low (0–19) — Minimal persecution risk. Christians can worship relatively freely.
The Open Doors World Watch List is the leading global measure of Christian persecution, published annually by Open Doors International. It ranks the top 50 countries (with detailed scoring for 78 countries) where Christians face the most severe persecution. The methodology covers five spheres of life — private, family, community, national, and church — plus violence. ROAM uses this data as the primary baseline for its country risk scores, supplemented by real-time incident activity and AI-informed adjustments.
Each country's risk card gives you a quick snapshot: rank, Open Doors World Watch List position, risk score, incident count, top threat categories, and an AI-generated summary. Clicking a card opens a detailed profile with tabs:
  • Risk Overview — Score breakdown, persecution level, and recent trends
  • Overview — General context and religious demographics
  • Persecution — How persecution affects believers in daily life, church, and community
  • Security — Current safety conditions and what to be aware of
  • Threats — Who is causing harm, emerging patterns, and what to watch for
Country profiles draw from Open Doors, the International Institute for Religious Freedom, the Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Guide, and AI-enhanced analysis.
🚨 Watch Desk & Alerts
The Watch Desk is your command center for monitoring the regions your ministry cares about. It displays threat-level assessments, a mini-map of your focus areas, social media intelligence, and real-time trend data. The stats bar at the top gives you severity counts, social mentions, tracked accounts, monitored assets, active alerts, and a 14-day trend sparkline — all at a glance. The Watch Desk organizes social intelligence into tabs: Feed (live posts), BOLO (tracked accounts), Events (upcoming situations), and Intel (AI-generated summaries).
A Focus is your personalized watchlist for the countries and threats your church cares about. When you create a Focus, you choose the countries, threat types, severity levels, and keywords you want to monitor. You can set up a Focus for each country where your church sends mission teams, supports partners, or has members serving. Each Focus can be configured with email alerts and geofence boundaries to keep you informed automatically.
Each Focus can send you email alerts when new threats match your criteria. You have full control over what triggers an alert — country, threat type, severity threshold, and keywords. Alerts are delivered to your email so you stay informed even when you're not logged in. For geofenced areas, checks run every 5 minutes, and you receive immediate notification when a new threat emerges within your geographic boundary.
Geofencing lets you draw a geographic boundary — a circle around a city, campus, compound, or region — and receive immediate alerts when threats emerge within that boundary. This is especially useful for mission teams on the ground who need to know about dangers in their specific area, not just their country at large. Geofence checks run every 5 minutes for near-real-time awareness.
The social intelligence module monitors X (formerly Twitter), Bluesky, and Telegram in real time for posts related to persecution, threats, and security conditions. You can search with boolean operators (AND, OR, exact phrases, exclusions), and our AI automatically evaluates each result for sentiment, threat level, and source credibility. Behind the scenes, we continuously monitor 55+ OSINT accounts across these platforms. When posts match persecution-related keywords, they are automatically processed and may appear as incidents on the map.
